A mix of quantitative and qualitative methods, including surveys, focus groups, interviews, statistical modeling, and mixed-methods designs, guided by the professional standards of the American Evaluation Association.

Data is handled through encrypted transfers via SFTP, secure cloud-based analysis on Databricks, and storage on AWS S3. Files are never stored on personal devices.

Sensemaking Lab is led by Managing Partners Oscar J. Mayorga, PhD and Paul Martinez, PhD, both UCLA-trained sociologists who conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
