Oscar J. Mayorga, PhD, is a sociologist and critical quantitative researcher with over 20 years of experience in higher education, data analysis, and institutional research. Dr. Mayorga holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from UCLA, specializing in Race & Ethnicity, Quantitative, and Computational Methods. He has a proven track record of administering and analyzing large-scale national surveys and developing strategic plans to inform policy decisions.
He has held key leadership positions, including Chief Diversity Officer at Anna Maria College and Director of Multicultural Affairs at Siena College, where he spearheaded initiatives to foster inclusive and equitable campus environments. Dr. Mayorga's work is characterized by his adept use of data as a catalyst for organizational change, centering equity in all aspects of his evaluations. His data collection, management, and analysis expertise has enabled him to identify and address disparities in student outcomes, financial aid distribution, and engagement levels. Through his strategic approach, Dr. Mayorga has successfully developed and implemented policies and practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, significantly impacting the institutions he has served.
Paul Martinez, PhD, is a sociologist and an institutional research expert with over 10 years of experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and research development. Dr. Martinez holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from UCLA and a B.A. in Sociology from Sonoma State University. Dr. Martinez specializes in the entire data life cycle, including warehousing, analysis, and visualization. His professional journey includes key roles at The Center for Civil Rights Remedies (CCRR), the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI), and the Los Angeles Education Research Institute at UCLA. Throughout his career, Dr. Martinez has focused on understanding and providing data-driven insights into education disparities.
Dr. Martinez’s higher education consulting has focused on working closely with IR departments in community colleges and four-year universities, and non-profit organizations. He has also co-authored several reports on the school-to-prison pipeline and racial disparities in education. Most importantly, as a first-generation, low-income, Latinx, with formerly incarcerated parents, Dr. Martinez knows first-hand how education has the ability to transform lives, and he hopes to achieve this transformation for ALL students through data-driven, student-centric, and evidence-based strategies and decision-making
